Self-Insured Employers
In addition to contracting with PPOs
and other insurance plan payers to provide healthcare services to plan
subscribers, the Permian Basin Healthcare Network (PBHN) contracts directly with
self-insured employer groups to provide medical and other healthcare services to
their workforces. PBHN has been providing cost-effective and high quality
healthcare to employer groups since 1995 (see current employer list below). Most
likely, your employees and dependents already have an existing relationship with
one or more of our participating providers. By placing our network in the hands
of our directly contracted employers, employers are able to exercise greater
control over their healthcare expenditures. Self-insured employers are exempt
from state-imposed insurance premium taxes and benefit mandates. They also have
more control over cash flow, can accrue a ROI on reserves, and can design a
health benefit plan tailored to meet the unique needs of their workforce. PBHN
works closely with employers, and with their insurance broker, third-party
administrator and health benefit consultant to create cost-effective health
benefit plans.
