The Permian Basin Healthcare Network, Inc. (PBHN) is a non-profit, taxable Texas corporation. PBHN was organized as a Physician Hospital Organization in 1994 and conducts its business in the West Texas City of Odessa, Texas and in the 17 surrounding counties of the Permian Basin. The PBHN is a healthcare provider network comprised of approximately 200 multi-specialty physicians, 95 allied healthcare providers, and Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. PBHN physicians practice in 44 specialty areas and its allied healthcare providers provide a comprehensive range of complementary services. Medical Center Hospital is a full-service, modernized licensed 362-bed facility with a cardiac cath lab, chest pain clinic, a new outpatient surgery center and is in the process of developing a new cancer center. Medical Center Hospital also serves as the primary teaching hospital for Texas Tech University’s Health Sciences Center in Odessa. PBHN is currently contracted with PPOs and other healthcare insurers to provide medical services to approximately 75,000 covered lives. In addition, PBHN has direct contracts with self-insured employers to provide healthcare services to an additional 9,000 covered lives. PBHN is overseen by a nine-physician member Board of Directors and is managed by a full-time staff of 2 employees. |
